Hardt is happy living a quiet, solitary life with his aunt. His insatiable curiosity is constantly fed by the unpredictable nature of life in his small agrarian Lander village.
But the great, fire-breathing dragons and their elven slaves are flying closer and closer to lander settlements. And rumor is they’ve developed a taste for human flesh. Hardt joins the guarde force preparing to destroy the beasts.
One dark night on solitary patrol, he finds himself facing a dragon.
And everything changes.
He must leave everything he knows and open his mind to be able to live with himself and to keep the sentient species of his world from destroying each other.

Author Bio:
Gwendolyn started telling stories before she could even form rational sentences. Thankfully her twin understood every word. Since learning how to spell a few words, Gwendolyn has toured the world telling stories on stage. She toured Europe performing improv with Boom Chicago and North America with the hysterical and life-changing show, Sex Signals as well as Shenandoah Shakespeare. Hardt’s Tale was greatly inspired by her time in Amsterdam and written entirely in hotel rooms and theaters. Hardt’s Tale and its companion novel, Geoffrey’s Queen, were written to be read in any order. After so much time searching airport book stores and never finding the first book in any series, Gwendolyn vowed to write a great fantasy series that wouldn’t leave new readers hanging.
When she’s not writing, Gwendolyn is performing or hiking or dancing or loving on a dog.
