About Ragdoll and the Curse of the Magi by S.D. Engles
Cloth and Canvas, Stitches and Magic
Doll is not your average rag doll… if you consider a five-foot tall, walking, talking, patchwork girl to be average, that is.
She doesn’t know where she came from nor who made her. When she isn’t cooking, cleaning, or doing anything else the Tanbury twins throw at her, our stitched up servant girl can usually be found alone in her attic room reading or staring out the window, imagining a life beyond her four walls. She doesn’t sleep, but she dreams of a past she can’t remember, a family she can’t recall, and visions of a bearded old man.
Her world is about to become a whole lot bigger when one stormy night, dark creatures creep out of the shadows and threaten her existence, only to be thwarted by the efforts of a mysterious tabby cat. Suddenly her life is turned upside down as she’s led on an adventure full of monstrous insects, cackling witches, and the broken shadow of a man with dark intentions… But all is not hopeless, as along the way she also finds friends and a magical city full of endless possibilities.
Will Doll find the answers she is seeking? Will she escape the darkness chasing her and help lift the curse from her new found friends? Or will she discover a deeper secret she cannot bear?
